Today is stop #7 of #10days10patios, if you are coming from Lucy's blog, welcome! She did an incredible job with her patio, I wish she lived closer, we could sip some cold drinks and catch up for a while, her backyard is perfect for that now:). Be sure to hop on over to Country Living, they are hosting this amazing group of summer patio tours as well! If you would like to take this makeover tour start to finish you can head over to Ella Claire, our gracious host for this event.

It's always fun to keep in touch with homeowners who are passionate about improving their lives through design. Attorney Andrea Selkregg and graphic designer Malcolm Bungcayao shared The Little NoPo Farmhouse Makeover with us six months ago, and it instantly became an all-time favorite. Since then, the Portland, Oregon-based couple has kept busy improving the exterior of their property, extending that same bright and cheery quality outdoors and making every square foot of their parcel count. The front porch, even in its original state, sealed the deal for Andrea. She wanted a home she could fix up to her taste, and knew it would be impossible to find a newly-remodeled place done to her exacting standards. As soon as spring came around, the pair got creative with what little remained of their budget after the interior renovation, and decided to do all the work themselves. They removed everything existing in the space, set out cement bricks to demarcate planting beds, and filled in large areas with sod and gravel. An outdoor kitchen was pieced together with items sourced from Craigslist and sample sales. Some cosmetic touches like contrasting paint details, dining and lounge furniture, and decorative accessories complete the modern vibe. With the yard finished, every inch of the house and property is ready to be enjoyed. Andrea and Malcolm wanted an outdoor space that would be safe and fun for children and dogs, and also one where the adults could entertain during summer months. Andrea is thankful that they were able to put their personal touch on every inch of this home. It feels uniquely personal now, and she never wants to leave. —AnniePhotography by Andrea Selkregg
